Nokia is planning to launch three new trend-inspired mobile phones that should be available in the market early 2006. L'Amour Collection is a strong statement and follows advanced trends: natural colours, genuine materials (leather, metal body and mirrored surfaces), patterns, flower motifs and textures.
I'm definitely not the target for these mobiles, I would prefer a more refined and elegant solution, but I do appreciate the company's heavy investing in new trends and advanced concepts.

The renowned Italian company Olivetti has recently announced the re launch of the brand. The latest generation of Olivetti products is being designed by internationally-renowned designers. Instantly understandable interfaces, intuitive language and universal icons have been adopted to improve the user experience and ensure ease of use.
Available in the market from September 2005 two models: ANY_WAY is a multifunction printer designed by James Irvine and Alberto Meda, available in four versions and including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi options in the top of the range models and MY_WAY, a portable photo printer designed by IDEO that reaches excellent results on standard paper, even without a PC.
The company's line of consumer-oriented ink jet products will be joined in 2006 by a product line conceived by another leading international designer, Jasper Morrison.

Hitachi Design Centre Europe has recently presented to public Dokodemo, an innovative interactive display that reacts to gesture movements just as seen in Minority Report.
Dokodemo was presented among other advanced projects developed by Hitachi's Design Centre during an event called Experience the Next that saw the participation of Francesco Morace, president of Future Concept Lab and Peter Hohmann, design manager of HDCE.

During the event the public had the chance to experience the gestual navigation of Dokodemo interactive display and were also able to upload and download pictures taken during the event via the Bluetooth enhanced display. The system was presented in two formats: the vertical version featuring ultrasound sensors and the horizontal advanced version equipped with digital video cameras and infrared LEDs.

The re-edition of Programma 8 table serving tools by Sargiani and Helander, one of Alessi’s epic successes.

Kddi has finally launched the Penck mobile phone designed by Makoto Saito. The stone shaped device is part of the au Design Project and comes after the A1403K launched last September.
Penck is a CDMA 1X WIN handset of Hitachi make. Available in three colours (metal, white and black), the metal model in the picture features a plating created with evaporated coating technology. The startup screen, menu icon, and idle images were also designed by Makoto Saito, and supports Flash.
