Konstantin Grcic has designed for famous german company Lamy a new ballpoint pen made of stainless steel and POM. Simple and fresh, with innovative new pushbutton clip mechanism and nice colours.

Luceplan's 2005 collection is simply wonderful.
Designed by architect Paolo Rizzato, Miranda is a series of table, bedside, floor and suspension lights made of aluminium and blown glass. The diffuser is either opal or mirrored glass supported by a ring that holds the lampholder, the concepts true core. Miranda is a perfect example of Rizzato's distinctive design style, timeless elegant with a bit of an old taste.

A historical piece of Luceplan's porfolio, Fortebraccio, has been revisited by Paolo Rizzato and Alberto Meda and the result is just stunning. New colours, better functionality and some smooth radius have freshened up this contemporary design classic.

Mix is a sophisticated reading lamp with a lightweight frame that uses the new LED Chip on Board technology designed by the duo Meda-Rizzato.

August 29, 2005 _toys

216 entries from all over the world was the response to the second competition launched by Depop and dedicated to the world of toys.
Many new ideas, lots of revisited classics, endless creativity and recycled materials and plenty of clever solutions.
The jury composed by 8 profesionals, designers and toy manufacturers, and equal quantity of kids gave the Zogo Award for Best Toy to the puzzle Smonta in Tondo by Elisabetta Nasuti, to the wooden toy Ulippy by Marco Elia and to the balance game Ciclisti designed by Marco Ongaro.
My favourite one is Raisins, awarded in the Best Educational Toy category. The toy, designed by Keren Rosen is realized sewing various fabrics (cotton, wool, synthetics) that behave in different ways when washed at high temperature: shrinking, changing colour and tactile sensation. Comes double so children can compare with the original version.
